Application of anti damage switch (metal button switch) in daily life

Currently, the global application of technology is increasing day by day. Due to the efforts of enterprises and public sectors to control costs and provide customers with better experiences, the trend of technology application is constantly increasing in many public places both indoors and outdoors. This approach brings many benefits, but also presents a series of challenges. This includes the Human Machine Interface (HMI), which typically consists of a series of push switches. Generally speaking, we take good care of the devices we own, but these public devices are likely to be maliciously or unintentionally abused. For this reason, designers can now use extremely sturdy and durable switches to develop various human-machine interfaces for common technologies, so that they can withstand the test of time. D-SSWITCH focuses on some key applications of this technology, as well as what key specifications designers should consider when specifying switches for sturdy and durable human-machine interfaces。

We need a tamper proof switch

Fundamentally, in order to implement system applications, the system requires users to input information to determine the operations they wish to perform or provide information to the system. Due to the fact that speech recognition technology is still in the early stages of development, using various types of switches is still the preferred method for human-machine interface development. When technology equipment is deployed in unmanned areas and operated by non device owners, it is highly likely to encounter abuse. Individual users sometimes choose to maliciously damage their devices for various reasons. Even legitimate users of the device may not take good care of it. They will carelessly press the switch vigorously, thereby shortening the service life of the equipment, especially for technical devices with human-machine interfaces. Obviously, for example, precision membrane switch matrices often cannot be used for a long time in the above situations. Due to the increasing deployment of such devices, the demand for high-intensity human-machine interfaces has also risen. Apart from family life, almost everything we do in our daily lives relies on various switch control systems。

For example, when taking a bus to a certain place, you will see that the fuel pump at the gas station usually has a button to select the gasoline product number. If it is a modern electric vehicle (EV), you will find that the charging station also has several buttons for inputting commands and starting/stopping the charging process. Button based human-machine interface devices are required when inflating tires, cleaning or sweeping our cars at service stations. Even if we travel by train instead of driving, we will see more and more diverse buttons; For example, buttons are used when opening car doors, going to the bathroom, or using intercom devices. When buying tickets, ticket machines may also be equipped with sturdy and durable human-machine interfaces. After arriving at the destination, we may need some cash, and you will find that the ATM also has a high-strength keyboard to effectively prevent damage. The building we are going to may also have access control or intercom systems. After entering the building, there are buttons in the elevator to select the floor。

High strength human-machine interface dedicated switch

The high-strength human-machine interface dedicated switch (capable of withstanding destructive operations by rough users or malicious saboteurs) differs from standard switches in terms of manufacturing materials and methods. Anti destructive switches usually use metal structures, with stainless steel being the most commonly used, but nickel (Ni) plated brass is also common, and sometimes anodized aluminum is also used. After being properly sealed, these switches can prevent moisture intrusion caused by weather or water ingress into the system caused by unintentional (or malicious) splashing of water onto the human-machine interface panel. The protection level of human-machine interface can usually reach IP67, which means that the switch can be completely unaffected by dust and can be immersed in water at a depth of 3 feet for 30 minutes. Similar to the IP rating scale for entrance protection, the IK rating scale defines the level of impact protection. The protection level of most anti damage switches can reach IK10 (currently the highest impact protection level), and the maximum energy level that can withstand impact is up to 20 joules. Many anti damage switches have icons set on the buttons to indicate their functions; In many cases, operational feedback is provided through LED lights in low light conditions. As one of the world's leading suppliers of switch technology, D-SWITCH offers multiple series of anti damage switches to meet various application needs。

The PBM series of D-SWITCH is a tamper proof sealed push switch that provides standard LED lighting within a body with a diameter of 8mm/12mm/16mm/19mm/22mm/25mm/30mm. This series of switches is made of stainless steel material and uses scratch resistant starters for appearance protection. The rated service life of the switch is 500000 switch operations, suitable for use in environmental conditions ranging from 20 ° C to+55 ° C. The switch adopts single pole double throw and double pole double throw forms, with normally open or normally closed contacts, and has instant or locking action function. Stainless steel actuators can adopt flat, dome or strip structures, and corresponding specifications can be designed according to the application situation. The required starting force for the switch is 2.5N (SP) or 3.5N (DP) - it requires a clear pressing action to operate and can provide positive tactile feedback to the user. The switch meets IP67 sealing protection requirements and can withstand mechanical impact of IK10 level. Its threaded structure can be easily assembled through the front panel, and the cross line function is used to achieve easy connection with the printed circuit board。
